TPU or themoplastic polyurethane, is a soft flexible TPE material that is available in hardnesses from 70 Shore A to 80 Shore D. It has the highest tensile strength and tear strength of any TPE. There are 2 categories of TPU, ester based and ether based. The ester based grades offer the best balance of properties. The ether based grades offer improved chemical resistance and hydrolysis resistance.
